Everything you need to know about the paperwork for donating your car in CA.
When donating your vehicle in California, the title transfer is a crucial step. Sign the title where indicated, ensuring the vehicle’s information is accurate. California does not require notarization for title transfers. To notify the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) about the transfer, you can fill out a Notice of Transfer and Release of Liability.
If there's a lien holder, contact them for clearance before donating. If your title is lost, you can obtain a duplicate title from the DMV to complete the donation process. AutoLift LA can assist with most of these steps, ensuring a smooth transition.
